Tyler Kackley, LPCMH (he/him/his)

Telehealth - Virtual Office Only

Tyler is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) who works to foster a relationship of mutual respect and understanding with his clients, and provide them with a greater sense of agency and control within their everyday lives. He believes that mental health is indelibly linked to our overall health and should not be ignored. There are times in our life when we find it difficult to manage what we once used to, or in the same ways we have in the past; having the support necessary to adapt to our situations is key in whether or not we feel capable of handling what life throws at us. Tyler aims to come from a position of non-judgement and empathy to help individuals to improve their ability to adapt to life adversities and provide an environment dedicated to overall wellness and personal growth.

Tyler's primary treatment modality is centered in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches with the addition of mindfulness practices to improve wellness. Tyler works to collaborate with clients to jointly identify areas of concern and develop treatment goals. Using solution-oriented frameworks to assist the client in achieving their goals, he aims to bolster the client's belief in their ability to overcome their struggles and improve their sense of mastery over their own lives. No individual is exactly the same, and Tyler works to center client treatment around the individual.

Tyler has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware and obtained their Master's Degree in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Since graduation, Tyler has worked within the penal system, working with the disenfranchised and marginalized within the corrections setting. As such, his therapeutic experience includes managing grief with clients, personality disorders, anxiety, stress management, depression, and more. Tyler primarily works with adults, and has experience with late adolescent age groups (18 - 24 years old).
